Job summary

Wood is recruiting an experienced PMC Quantity Surveyor (Site) for our Oil, Gas & New Energies business based in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This full-time on-site role requires a senior professional with extensive oil and gas project experience, including ADNOC exposure.

You will lead site-based survey activities, coordinate with engineering, construction and QA teams, and ensure accurate cost reporting and governance. MRICS or equivalent qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, particularly with ADNOC projects.
  • MRICS or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience in EPC and gas processing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute all site survey activities to support construction, installation, and engineering operations.
  • Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference grids.
  • Lead and supervise the survey team and allocate tasks.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction and QA/QC teams to support design and execution.
  • Conduct topographic, geodetic, and as-built surveys with precision.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed survey reports and drawings.
  • Support construction teams with accurate layout and elevation data.
  • Mentor junior surveyors and promote best practices.

Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced PMC Quantity Surveyor (Site) as part of our Construction team within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be full time onshore site based in Ruwais, United Arab Emirates.

  • Plan and execute all site survey activities to support construction, installation, and engineering operations.
  • Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference grids for accurate layout and alignment of pipelines, structures, and equipment.
  • Lead and supervise the survey team, ensuring proper task allocation, performance monitoring, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA/QC teams to ensure survey data supports design and execution requirements.
  • Conduct topographic, geodetic, and as-built surveys, ensuring precision and compliance with project specifications.
  • Review and validate survey data, ensuring accuracy before submission to project stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and use of surveying instruments, including GPS, Total Stations, and Laser Scanners.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed survey reports, drawings, and documentation, ensuring traceability and compliance.
  • Support construction teams by providing accurate layout and elevation data for civil, structural, and pipeline works.
  • Monitor and resolve discrepancies between design drawings and actual site conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards during all survey operations and promote safe work practices within the team.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, and client representatives to address survey-related queries and provide technical support.
  • Train and mentor junior surveyors, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.
