Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Quantity Surveyor (Site) for our Oil, Gas & New Energies business in Abu Dhabi. The role is full-time onshore, based in Ruwais, UAE, reporting to project leadership.

You will plan and execute site surveys, manage the survey team, and coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA/QC to ensure data supports design and execution. Ideal candidates have 15+ years in oil & gas with ADNOC projects, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and MRICS or AACE

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field.
• MRICS or equivalent certification.
• AACE International certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute all site survey activities to support construction, installation, and engineering operations.
• Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference grids for accurate layout and alignment of pipelines, structures, and equipment.
• Lead and supervise the survey team, ensuring proper task allocation, performance monitoring, and adherence to project timelines.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA/QC teams to ensure survey data supports design and execution requirements.
• Conduct topographic, geodetic, and as-built surveys, ensuring precision and compliance with project specifications.

Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced PMC Quantity Surveyor (Site) as part of our Construction team within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be full time onshore site based in Ruwais, United Arab Emirates.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute all site survey activities to support construction, installation, and engineering operations.
• Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference grids for accurate layout and alignment of pipelines, structures, and equipment.
• Lead and supervise the survey team, ensuring proper task allocation, performance monitoring, and adherence to project timelines.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA/QC teams to ensure survey data supports design and execution requirements.
• Conduct topographic, geodetic, and as-built surveys, ensuring precision and compliance with project specifications.
• Review and validate survey data, ensuring accuracy before submission to project stakeholders.
• Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and use of surveying instruments, including GPS, Total Stations, and Laser Scanners.
• Prepare and maintain detailed survey reports, drawings, and documentation, ensuring traceability and compliance.
• Support construction teams by providing accurate layout and elevation data for civil, structural, and pipeline works.
• Monitor and resolve discrepancies between design drawings and actual site conditions.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards during all survey operations and promote safe work practices within the team.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, and client representatives to address survey-related queries and provide technical support.
• Train and mentor junior surveyors, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.

Expected

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Experience: Over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, particularly with ADNOC projects.
• Certifications: Professional qualifications such as MRICS or equivalent, and relevant certifications like AACE International.
• Project Management: Experience in EPC and gas processing projects is often required.
