Job summary

Star Services in Dubai seeks a physically fit candidate for handling and transporting gas cylinders and other materials. You will count, identify, and segregate cylinders by size and status, perform labeling, leak checks and filling, and assist with decanting, testing, and valve work.

The role requires adherence to safety procedures and active participation in trainings and drills. Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, painting of cylinders and pipelines, and reporting hazards.

• Candidates should not have any known medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, back pain, arthritis, or similar issues.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe handling, unloading/loading of cylinders and other materials to/from vehicles.
• Count cylinders in stacks and in vehicles and identify/segregate by size, filled/empty, manufactured, retest date, abnormalities.
• Seal, stencil, labeling, leak check and filling of cylinders.
• Handle decanting, hydro-testing, punching, valve fixing and removal activities.
• Identify, segregate and fill cylinders as per procedure; ensure within tolerance.
• Assist in equipment maintenance and painting of cylinders, pipelines, equipment and vehicles.
• Participate in internal trainings and briefings to gain knowledge about products and safe handling practices.
• Observe safety norms and report workplace hazards; participate in fire drills and emergency procedures.
• Know and implement Company EH&S Policy, Procedures, Regulations and Objectives; ensure implementation in own area.
• Be flexible to work in different shifts based on work requirements and weekly schedule.

Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out safe handling, unloading/loading of cylinders and other materials to /from vehicles. Counts the cylinders in stacks and in vehicles. Identifies the cylinders and segregates them by the indicators of size, filled, empty, manufactured, retest date, abnormalities. Takes care of sealing, stencilling, labelling, leak check and filling of cylinders. Handles decanting of cylinders as well as hydro-testing, punching, valve fixing and removal activities. Identifies, segregates, and fills cylinders as per procedure. Ensures cylinders are filled within accepted tolerance. Carries out all jobs as advised by the Shift Supervisor including general cleaning, housekeeping, and washing of cylinders. Assists in equipment maintenance and does painting of cylinders, pipelines, equipment, and vehicles. Participate in internal trainings and briefing and gain knowledge about all products and their safe handling practices. Observes all safety norms and carries out his duties in accordance with prescribed safety procedures. Ensures that workplace hazards are reported to the Shift Supervisor/Plant Manager. Participates in fire drills and other emergency procedures. Takes appropriate emergency measures when required. Knows the Company's and Environment, Health & Safety Policy, Procedures, Regulations and Objectives as they relate to his area of responsibility and ensure that they are effectively implemented in his domain. Should be flexible to work in different shifts based on the work requirements and weekly schedule
