Job summary

Engie SA in the United Arab Emirates seeks an Operations Manager to lead and manage Plant Shift Teams, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable operation of the plant and meeting generation and cost targets within environmental limits.

You will report to the Plant General Manager and provide dynamic leadership in a culturally diverse environment, developing staff competence, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with PWPA and O&M agreements while driving safety performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent would be an advantage.
• Minimum ten years of operational experience in modern gas turbines power and desalination plants.
• Fluent in English with excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Experience in DCS and PLC systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs, supervises and coordinates the activities of operation and maintenance personnel.
• Reviews shift logs to ensure safe and reliable operation and handover.
• Makes decisions on plant operational problems with immediate, medium and long-term impact.
• Evaluates defects or maintenance work with potential safety or commercial impact.
• Inspects high-priority maintenance activities and ensures quality and timely completion.
• Reports to the Plant General Manager for serious deviations and remedial actions.
