Job description

We are looking for a Plant Manager, to be based in Abu Dhabi, who will oversee the daily operations of a nano filtration water treatment facility, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with environmental regulations. This role involves managing staff, coordinating maintenance, optimizing filtration processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality water output and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

• Lead and manage all aspects of plant operations including nano filtration systems, pre-treatment, post-treatment, and auxiliary equipment.
• Monitor and optimize system performance to ensure consistent water quality and throughput.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for plant processes.
• Supervise and mentor plant staff including operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
• Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and ensure adequate staffing for 24/7 operations.
• Conduct training programs to enhance team skills and safety awareness.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of nano filtration membranes, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Coordinate with engineering and technical teams for upgrades and repairs.

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international water quality standards and environmental regulations.
• Maintain safety protocols and conduct regular audits and risk assessments.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports and documentation.

Budget & Resource Management:

• Prepare and Manage plant budget, control costs, and optimize resource utilization.

Reporting & Analytics:

• Analyze operational data and generate performance reports.
• Identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in water treatment or membrane filtration, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of Desalination. Nano Filtration knowledge is plus.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, PLCs, CMMS and automated control systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent technical English communication speaking and writing.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with ISO standards and quality management systems.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy-efficient operations.
