Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to join AECOM in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will oversee construction planning, scheduling and on-site supervision to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have 18+ years in construction planning, strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, and proven leadership in large-scale projects with strict regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse teams.
  • Proven experience using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project for project planning and scheduling.
  • Experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis in large construction projects.
  • Familiarity with UAE construction regulations, building codes, and local compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard planning software and methodologies
  • Supervise and coordinate construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations
  • Monitor project progress against timelines and budgets, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions
  • Prepare detailed progress reports and performance metrics for project stakeholders and management
  • Manage resource allocation, including labor, equipment, and materials, to optimize project efficiency
  • Conduct regular site inspections and meetings to ensure quality standards and adherence to construction specifications
  • Identify and analyze project risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize delays and cost overruns
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve planning conflicts and technical issues
  • Ensure compliance with UAE construction regulations, safety standards, and local building codes
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, change orders, and correspondence
  • Provide technical guidance and support to site supervisors and construction teams
  • Analyze construction methodologies and recommend process improvements to enhance productivity

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing construction planning, scheduling, and supervision activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, technical construction expertise, and the ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard planning software and methodologies

  • Solid understanding of risk management and problem-solving in construction environments
  • Familiarity with UAE construction regulations, building codes, and local compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools
