Position Overview Parsons is seeking a Planning Engineer to join its site-based team in Abu Dhabi, UAE, supporting the Stormwater DMT Technical Advisory Program. Project Controls - Planning and Scheduling
  • Assist with developing, updating, and maintaining project schedules for stormwater technical advisory assignments.
  • Use approved scheduling tools and established project controls procedures.
  • Support preparation of schedule status reports and regular progress updates.
  • Assist with developing staffing and resource curves.
  • Help identify schedule variances and emerging delivery risks.
  • Support senior project controls personnel in developing recovery or mitigation actions.
  • Coordinate with engineering and project management teams to collect schedule-related information.
  • Check schedule inputs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain current planning information as projects progress.
Cost Engineering Support
  • Assist with preparation and updating of cost control systems.
  • Support preparation of basic project cost reports.
  • Perform arithmetic and consistency checks on cost reporting documentation.
  • Review project controls information for basic data accuracy.
  • Prepare graphs, diagrams, and exhibits for internal reports and presentations.
Project Controls Coordination

Working within a structured project environment, the Planning Engineer will support consistent application of Parsons and Client project controls requirements. The role provides exposure to the relationship between engineering progress, project schedules, resources, costs, reporting, and overall infrastructure delivery. Responsibilities will include maintaining organized project controls records and supporting the preparation of reliable information for project and management teams.

Stormwater Infrastructure Exposure

The position supports technical advisory work associated with stormwater infrastructure, including networks, pumping stations, outfalls, and projects intended to enhance infrastructure resilience. Candidates with previous exposure to stormwater, water, wastewater, municipal services, or the wider UAE infrastructure sector may bring useful experience to the position, although such experience is not mandatory.

What Required Skills You'll Bring
  • Bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Typically 0-1 years of related experience in project controls, planning and scheduling, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • UAE infrastructure sector experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Previous exposure to stormwater, water, wastewater, or municipal services is an advantage.
