Overview

Planning Engineer – Real Estate Projects – Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Full‑time role with an estimated salary range of 12,000–18,000 UAE dirhams per month. The role requires a seasoned construction planner who can develop and manage Primavera-based schedules, monitor progress, and perform delay and time‑impact analysis for major real‑estate developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review tender information and prepare practical tender programmes that reflect project scope, sequencing, resources and construction methodology.
  • Develop baseline and contract programmes covering construction, procurement, engineering, approvals and resource‑loaded planning requirements.
  • Generate procurement and engineering schedules from the baseline programme and communicate key dates to relevant departments.
  • Create realistic three‑week and three‑month look‑ahead schedules to support site planning and short‑term control.
  • Prepare plant lists and labour histograms during pre‑contract and post‑contract stages for resource planning.
  • Collaborate with the Planning Manager or Senior Planning Manager to analyse construction methods, sequencing options, productivity assumptions and technical planning constraints.
  • Assist the estimation team with preliminary planning information, schedule‑related inputs and resource considerations during tender preparation.
  • Coordinate with the Planning Manager and Tendering Lead to prepare project logistics plans and method statements.
  • Identify complex construction activities and support the development of risks and opportunities registers for planning, tendering and execution review.
  • Monitor site progress against approved schedules and assess the impact of actual achievements on the overall programme.
  • Prepare weekly, bi‑weekly and monthly progress reports detailing progress status, delays, critical activities and planned recovery actions.
  • Support delay mitigation planning by revising baseline or contract programmes as required.
  • Assist with time‑impact analysis for scope changes, unforeseen conditions, delayed decisions or other project events affecting the schedule.
  • Track key milestones, procurement dates, engineering deliverables, site progress, productivity trends and critical‑path activities.
  • Maintain clear planning records to support reporting, management review, contractual communication and project control.
  • Coordinate with project management, construction, commercial, engineering, procurement and site teams to keep planning information accurate and current.
Ideal Profile
  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related technical discipline.
  • Licensed or professionally qualified construction planning professional preferred.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in project planning, construction scheduling or technical planning roles.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and building construction activities, development processes and sequencing.
  • Proven experience preparing tender programmes, baseline and contract schedules, look‑ahead schedules, labour histograms and progress reports.
  • Proficient in Primavera planning software with commercial project exposure.
  • Good knowledge of planning principles, schedule control, progress measurement, critical‑path monitoring and delay analysis.
  • Familiarity with local legislation, statutory requirements, project logistics planning and construction documentation practices.
  • Ability to analyse project progress, identify risks, evaluate delays and support corrective action planning.
  • Strong coordination skills and the ability to work across project management, estimation, tendering, procurement, engineering and site teams.
  • Comfortable managing complexity, working under deadlines and communicating planning information clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Results‑focused, proactive, adaptable and able to support project teams in a fast‑moving construction environment.
