An established industry player is seeking a skilled Planning Engineer to oversee project scheduling and coordination. This role is vital for ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of construction projects, involving the development of detailed schedules, risk analysis, and stakeholder reporting. The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing monitoring and updating project schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of construction projects. The role involves coordinating with project teams analyzing risks and ensuring alignment with contractual requirements.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent tools.
Prepare baseline programs, work breakdown structures (WBS), and construction methodologies.
Ensure project schedules align with contractual milestones and client requirements.
Develop short-term and long-term planning strategies to optimize project performance.
Track project progress, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct critical path analysis (CPA) to assess project timelines and potential risks.
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly progress reports to management and clients.
Monitor resource allocation and highlight potential inefficiencies.
Analyze project delays and prepare extension of time (EOT) claims.
Identify bottlenecks and risks, proposing mitigation strategies to minimize delays.
Support the commercial team in contractual claims and variation orders.
Work closely with project managers, site engineers, quantity surveyors, and subcontractors.
Provide technical input for tender schedules, contract programs, and cash flow forecasts.
Participate in progress meetings and present project status updates.
Ensure schedules comply with project specifications, company policies, and local regulations.
Assist in planning and scheduling HSE (Health Safety and Environment) activities.
Implement best practices in planning, risk assessment, and project execution.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 5-10 years of experience in planning and scheduling in the construction industry.
Certifications (preferred): PMP, PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional), or equivalent.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in Primavera P6, MS Project, and scheduling techniques.
Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, EOT claims, and risk management.
Proficiency in resource and cost-loaded scheduling.
