Job description

About the Company:

Alef Group is a pioneer in developing premier lifestyle communities, destinations, and experiences through investment and strategic joint ventures, seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Planning Engineer from a Real Estate Developer environment to join our growing team based in Sharjah.

Job Purpose:

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for providing comprehensive planning and project control support across multiple real estate developments—spanning villas, mixed-use buildings, and infrastructure—from concept to handover. The role combines Primavera P6 scheduling with Power BI reporting, requiring strong knowledge of Sharjah authority processes and the ability to develop risk-aware, integrated project timelines.

Key Accountabilities:

Pre-Construction & Design Phase:

  • Develop detailed baseline schedules (Levels 1–4) that span feasibility, authority approvals, design development, procurement, and site mobilization.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (design, commercial, marketing, and government affairs) to gather planning inputs.
  • Integrate key milestones from Sharjah’s regulatory bodies, such as Sharjah Municipality, SEWA, and RTA, into project timelines and monitor approval progress.

Construction Phase Monitoring:

  • Review and assess contractor programs, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Monitor site progress against baseline, analyse the critical path and float, and issue variance and recovery plans.
  • Participate in regular site coordination meetings and evaluate short-term look-ahead plans, S-curves, and earned value metrics.

Multi-Project Portfolio Controls:

  • Maintain and regularly update a consolidated master schedule for multiple simultaneous projects (villas, buildings, infrastructure).
  • Build and manage interactive dashboards in Power BI, integrating data from Primavera P6, site reports, and ERP systems.
  • Prepare and present monthly KPI and risk reports for Executive Management and the Board of Directors

Process Optimization & Team Support:

  • Standardize WBS structures, progress measurement techniques, and reporting templates across all projects.

Mentor and support planning staff from contractors and consultants, while promoting planning best practices within project teams.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Educational Qualification & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s in civil engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.

Work Experience:

  • 6 to 10 years of UAE-based experience in planning roles within real estate development, consultancy, or contracting—preferably with experience in villa communities, mid-rise buildings, and infrastructure works.
  • Hands-on expertise in Primavera P6 (advanced level), MS Office suite (particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), MS Project, and proven skills in Power BI with DAX/data modeling.
  • Certification in PMP, PMI-SP, PSP, AACE CCP/EVP, or an equivalent project management and cost control credential is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Primavera Risk Analysis for project risk assessment and experience with Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps for streamlining workflows and reporting are also preferred.
  • Familiarity with Sharjah’s regulatory environment and approval procedures.
  • Strong command of English—both written and verbal—with the ability to communicate complex technical data effectively to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing planning tasks across several active projects simultaneously.

Skills required:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Confident and effective stakeholder manager.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • A team-oriented professional with a passion for excellence in planning and controls.
