Planning Engineer

Job Description:

1. Prepares and submits master program of the project in consultation with Project Manager.
2. Prepares and submits Planning Data to be incorporated into the submittal of Project Progress Report (weekly/monthly) in coordination with Project Manager and Site Quantity Surveyor and submits the same to the Consultant/Client for Approval.
3. Submits planning report such as preparation of manpower requirements for the project, preparation of material procurement report in accordance with the approved program.
4. Coordinates with Project Manager for the effective implementation and monitoring of Look Ahead-Schedule including the project actual accomplishments.
5. Reports to the Project Manager the status of project progress against the planned schedule and provides corrective actions necessary if the planned schedule is not achieved.
6. Has experience in specialized planning & scheduling software utilization (Primavera and/or MS Project).
7. Knowledge of design standards and procedures would be an asset.
8. Full awareness and implementation of the requirements of the Quality Management system and the Environmental Management System.
9. Sets up issues alerts for all important contractual and milestone dates.
10. Prepares cash flow, charts & histogram on planning projects.
11. Verifies Critical Path and interfaces between design/engineering/procurement/execution.
12. Monitors progress periodically and compares it with baseline and provides solutions.

1. Good knowledge of engineering/design scope, job working instruction/procedures, good project control practices in planning and scheduling, and overall awareness of projects.
2. Technically strong in project cost planning, scheduling, and reporting.
3. Knowledge in the use of MS Project and Primavera Scheduling.
4. Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
5. Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations and meet deadlines.
6. Good report writing abilities.
7. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers.
8. Strong team work attitude and ability to motivate team members, significant communication skills, problem-solving attitude, fast and multi-task execution capabilities, strong analytical mindset, and imaginative problem-solving ability.

Experience:

2-5 years minimum experience, with 3 years minimum background experience in the planning of design/engineering activities with specialization in Project Management.
