Brief: Incumbent will be responsible for overall project planning, follow-up, claims and claim analysis, program updates, subcontractor engineering, materials follow-up as per schedule, and project document close-out.
Job Description:
- Develop the most appropriate method and sequence of construction operations for specific projects in conjunction with the Site Manager.
- Plan and oversee the entire work program, anticipating contractual demands related to labor, materials, equipment, and technical challenges.
- Present work schedules, often using visual aids such as bar charts and procedural diagrams.
- Create CL-14 programs using available drawings and information; discuss these programs with the Project Manager or Planning Manager.
- Establish the critical path and monitor changes regularly, ensuring the validity of the critical path in subcontractors’ programs.
- Finalize and submit the program to clients/consultants and distribute internally.
- Update the CL-14 program regularly by collecting data from the site and relevant personnel; get the progress approved by site agents and engineering teams.
- Monitor progress throughout construction, compare with the projected schedule, and identify deviations and delays using KPIs.
- Assist in preparing delay claim reports.
- Collaborate with the Quantity Surveyor in preparing delay and time extension claims.
- Liaise with site management leaders throughout the process, making necessary project adjustments.
- Regularly review contract documents, drawings, and daily correspondence.
- Monitor subcontractors’ progress and attend progress meetings.
Education & Knowledge:
- Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in contracting, with preference for experience in finishes.
- Ability to perform cost analysis and delay analysis.
