Job Summary
This position will be site-based and in charge of a package (project) responsible for providing planning, scheduling, and forensic delay analysis to the Project Lead and other Project team members.
Job Duties
- Understanding work scope quantity and familiar with logical sequencing of construction disciplines;
- Providing detailed review, analysis, and monitoring of procurement and construction programmes with Critical Path Method analysis of the Contractor, Subcontractors, and Utilities;
- Working closely on a day-to-day basis with the contractors' planners to monitor and/or amend the contractors' baseline programme of work;
- Providing progress reports, graphs, and critical path analysis for monthly and weekly progress reports to the Project Management Consultant (PMC);
- Reporting to the Project Lead any risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies to maintain the project completion date;
- Reviewing actual progress against the construction programme and reporting to the Project Lead accordingly;
- Advising the Project Lead on potential delay events and early warnings;
- Attending site and convening workshops with the site supervision team as necessary to get snapshots in time and keep updated on actual progress on site;
- Conducting independent site visits to evaluate the contractor's site progress against their programme and reporting to the Project Lead;
- Providing support to the Cost Control Team in understanding programme risks and opportunities related to additional works and variations;
- Maintaining records of programme monitoring to support evaluation of contractor claims and variations;
- Assisting PMC during negotiations, arbitration, or dispute resolution;
- Reviewing claims (Time Impact Analysis, Window, AACE) and their defense, including the chronology of events;
- Investigating potential delay events and determining the presence of concurrent delays;
- Reviewing and preparing prospective and retrospective delay analyses;
- Presenting and discussing EoT claims with knowledge of contract mechanisms.
Specific Skills Required
- Experience with major multi-contract projects;
- Knowledge of Time Impact Analysis and forensic delay analysis;
- Advanced understanding of planning principles, methodologies, and data collection practices;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) and Internet applications;
- Fully conversant with Primavera packages and MS Project;
- Knowledge of standard contract forms;
- Ability to develop, monitor, and control schedules;
- Hands-on knowledge of WBS coding, cost/schedule variance analysis;
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), project trends, contract changes, and claims;
- Effective technical writing skills.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management;
Experience
- Minimum of 12 years in Planning / Project Controls, preferably on major programs and mixed-use developments.
