Job Description

  • Develop Project planning package including work breakdown structure, Identify critical path activities and prepare S-Curve
  • Monitor and analyze project effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative tools.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor activities of assigned projects to develop and implement procedures, processes and systems.
  • Develop detailed task lists as per project requirements.
  • Prepare short and long-term resource allocation plans based on input from all key players and team members.
  • Oversee schedules and risk management plans and provide serious deviations warnings hindering project results.
  • Identify changes in work scope in the project plan.
  • Ensure to take appropriate planning measures with all clients to reassess, renegotiate and amend scope of work responsibilities, proposals, contracts and budgets.
  • Prepare and present regular internal and external project reports for management.
  • Evaluate and analyze the risks and issues related to each project results and develop plans to avoid them in the future.
  • Gather actual data, update project schedule and develop reliable schedule forecast with support from engineering team
  • Obtain Daily & weekly progress data’s from execution team and update progress report
  • Resource planning & resource leveling including manpower, material & equipment
  • Should be able to prepare project recovery plan with supporting documents & justifications
  • Set up progress measurement & reporting systems and assist construction team with look ahead schedules & report on progress
  • Defining the cost codes for booking the cost of resource utilization and monitoring the productivity on monthly basis.
  • Interaction with discipline engineers & project managers and highlighting negative trend in the project.
  • Perform time study & assist in preparation of construction norms.
  • Evaluate, and forecast project progress and performance against the established accepted / amended schedule with critical milestones.
  • Assess the impact(s) of design/construction changes and schedule slippages.
  • Inform the Planning Manager/Senior Planning Engineer (for informing PMC / Client) of any potential delays in the project completion or the milestones.
  • Analyze, assess and participate in discussions about any suggested recovery program by the Contractor to mitigate any delays.
  • Participate in the assessment and analysis of time related claims by the contractor.
  • Assist the PM in progress validation, monitoring KPI’s & Construction commodities, and preparation of project status reports
  • Prepare weekly, monthly reports about the status of construction progress.
  • Experienced in using planning & scheduling software such as MSP, Primavera P6.Should have Strong Computer knowledge
  • Should have Strong MS-Office practical knowledge

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 7 -10 years’ experience as Planning Engineer/Planner in Mechanical Construction Project (medium to large scale piping/equipment fabrication projects).
  • Excellent project management, planning and communication skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Experienced in using planning & scheduling software such as MSP & Primavera P6.
