General Summary
Manage the demand and supply planning function for Steel Making Plant raw materials and refractory materials, tracking material movement from receiving, storage, and supplying. Update inventory stock records to facilitate effective planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Storage Planning:
- Control stock levels for materials of the Steel Making Plants, maintaining optimum stock through proper distribution of incoming materials.
- Assist Section Head/Supervisor in preparing and updating storage location plans.
Record Maintenance:
- Track Purchase Requisitions and monitor their status.
- Compile data from Delivery Notes for received materials and Material Requisitions for supplied materials; upload transactions in SAP, including GRN creation, material issuance, and transfer.
- Create GRNs, finalize signatories, and submit to Finance for payment.
- Coordinate with SAP team to resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Upload data related to Steel Making Plant bi-products and scrap in SAP, including transfer transactions.
Supply Management:
- Monitor adherence to FIFO in supplying refractory and raw materials, preventing expiration through coordination with end users.
- Support physical stock verification and reconciliation.
- Track missing labels/items of refractory and raw materials.
- Coordinate with end users regarding material consumption issues.
- Assist in implementing IMS and regulatory standards related to procurement and logistics.
Human Resource Management Facilitation:
- Assist with administrative functions, including manpower, leave, overtime, safety, and environmental compliance.
Security & Safety:
- Ensure security and safety for all assets related to procurement and logistics.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Section heads and supervisors with special tasks and control on expenditure, safety, and environmental incidents.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities required
- Basic knowledge of safety and environmental handling and storage.
- Understanding of different refractory and raw materials, quality aspects.
- Experience with computerized inventory management, SAP, FIFO, and tracking movement of finished goods.
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for generating reports.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English.
- Understanding of logistics, technical specifications.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business/Management.
Professional Experience (Must haves)
Minimum 5 years of warehousing experience with extensive knowledge of industrial inventory management and computerized control systems.
Key Performance Indicators
- Implement materials requirement planning based on production schedules.
- Maintain stock levels at 1.5-2.5 months, analyzing usage and lead times.
- Analyze consumption, recommend MRP adjustments, and control inventory.
- Monitor long lead-time items for optimized inventory.
- Replenish stock, generate PRs, follow-up on purchase orders.
- Reduce inventory levels while maintaining customer service standards.
- Provide feedback on received materials and follow-up on technical evaluations.
- Develop and improve MRP and ERP processes.
- Adhere to safety, quality, and environmental policies.
