Planner in apparel retail is responsible for ensuring the right products are available at the right time and place to meet customer demand, maximizing profitability and minimizing waste. This involves analyzing sales trends, forecasting future needs, and managing inventory levels. Planners collaborate with buyers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective merchandise strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze sales data, identify trends, and forecast future product demand.
Manage inventory levels, optimize stock levels, and minimize overstocking or stockouts.
Develop and implement merchandise plans, including product selection, sizing, colors, and pricing strategies.
Assist in the development of buying budgets and ensure financial targets are met.
Work closely with buyers, suppliers, marketing, and retail teams to ensure alignment on merchandise strategies.
Prepare and present reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and other relevant metrics.
Develop and implement promotional sales plans to drive sales and achieve business goals.
Support in-season activities such as repeat orders, markdowns, and consolidations.
