The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning the work to be executed in their respective area during weekly online and offline maintenance windows. The role also involves continuously improving maintenance plans and strategies, seeking feedback to enhance planning quality.
Responsibilities include:
- Enabling safe and efficient execution of shutdown asset strategies and maintenance work through detailed job preparation.
- Establishing standard job plans for repetitive shutdown maintenance tasks to foster standardization.
- Ensuring all improvements in work execution are clearly communicated and implemented.
- Acting as the primary custodian of area/disciple maintenance plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing detailed job plans that ensure safe and efficient execution of all maintenance jobs.
- Following the management of change process when new materials are required.
- Managing work notification and work order backlog by returning incomplete or poorly defined notifications, reviewing backlog and planning lists, grouping notifications, coordinating with production, developing or copying work order plans, creating purchase orders, building and updating the job plan library, and forwarding ready job packages to the scheduler.
- Processing all notifications to a planned state for work orders.
- Executing planning by identifying priority factors like critical equipment, statutory inspections, PMs, and priority assignments.
- Completing all planning functions before assigning the planned status to an order, including operation steps, labor, components, work instructions, and costs.
- Identifying opportunities for detailed scoping and planning, requiring input from maintenance technicians and engineering teams.
- Leveraging knowledge within Mechanical and Electrical workshops for risk assessments.
- Recommending changes to site master data and documentation systems and assisting in their implementation.
- Measuring performance and strategy effectiveness using site planning metrics.
- Assisting with long-term budget development based on PM task list details.
- Implementing and managing plant reliability focusing on preventive/predictive maintenance using best practices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Adequate craft knowledge to estimate labor hours, materials, and skills needed.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Deep understanding of maintenance processes, work management systems, planning, and scheduling.
- Bachelor's degree or engineering qualification.
Preferred Professional Training
Professional Experience (Must Haves)
At least 5 years of trade or engineering experience in a relevant industry.

- Management KPIs for standard maintenance work, including work pack preparation, backlog management, work execution, spares readiness, notification backlog, and spares accuracy.
