Job Summary
Responsible for supervising piping construction personnel and subcontractors to ensure fabrication, installation, testing, and handover activities are completed safely and in accordance with ADNOC requirements, approved drawings, international standards, project schedules, quality requirements, and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise piping foremen, welders, pipefitters, riggers, helpers, subcontractors, and vendor personnel.
- Coordinate piping fabrication, spool erection, valve and support installation, equipment connections, tie-ins, testing and reinstatement.
- Review piping isometrics, P&IDs, layouts, material specifications, support drawings and construction work packages.
- Plan daily activities and ensure the availability of manpower, materials, tools, equipment, permits, access, scaffolding and lifting resources.
- Monitor construction progress, productivity, manpower utilisation and compliance with the project schedule.
- Verify pipe routing, slope, elevation, orientation, flange alignment, valve direction, support locations and internal cleanliness.
- Coordinate welding, NDT, PWHT, RFIs, inspections and repair activities with the QA/QC team.
- Support hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, flushing, leak testing, drying, reinstatement and test-package closeout.
- Ensure piping materials are correctly identified, stored, preserved, segregated, issued and used according to the applicable material class.
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, QA/QC, HSE, commissioning and other construction disciplines to resolve site issues.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety, quality, productivity, schedule, cost and project procedures.
- Participate in HSE meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments and daily site inspections.
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE requirements, permit-to-work procedures, LOTO, SIMOPS and approved lifting plans.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, manpower forecasts, look-ahead schedules and recovery plans.
- Support punch-list clearance, mechanical completion, system handover and final documentation.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Piping Engineering.
- Minimum 5-10 years of piping construction experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery or EPC projects.
- At least five years of direct field-construction experience.
- Experience with a major international EPC or E&C contractor.
- Strong knowledge of piping fabrication, erection, welding, supports, flange management, pressure testing and reinstatement.
- Ability to interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, piping layouts, specifications and work packages.
- Working knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, welding, NDT and project HSE requirements.
- Strong leadership, workforce-management, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good computer skills and proficiency in English.
- Previous ADNOC project experience or ADNOC approval is strongly preferred.
- Experience with brownfield works, shutdowns, tie-ins and SIMOPS would be advantageous.
