Job description

Job Purpose:
The Piping & Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and inspection of piping systems and mechanical equipment in compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and HSE regulations. The role ensures that all piping and mechanical activities are executed efficiently, safely, and within schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision & Execution:

  • o Supervise and coordinate the installation, fabrication, testing, and maintenance of piping systems, pressure vessels, valves, pumps, and other mechanical equipment.
  • o Ensure all work complies with ADNOC standards, ASME, ANSI, API, and other relevant codes.
  • o Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure quality and adherence to project specifications.
2. Planning & Coordination:
  • o Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and material specifications.
  • o Coordinate with engineers, planners, and construction teams to ensure smooth workflow.
  • o Prepare work schedules, manpower allocation, and resource planning.
3. Quality & Safety Compliance:
  • o Conduct inspections and ensure all piping and mechanical works meet quality standards.
  • o Implement and enforce HSE policies, including PTW (Permit to Work), JSA (Job Safety Analysis), and risk assessments.
  • o Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformities.
4. Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
  • o Identify and resolve technical issues related to piping systems and mechanical equipment.
  • o Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • o Ensure proper hydrotesting, leak testing, and alignment checks are performed.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
  • o Maintain daily logs, inspection reports, and as-built documentation.
  • o Report progress, delays, and challenges to the Construction Manager/Project Manager.
  • o Ensure material certifications, weld logs, and test reports are properly documented.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in piping and mechanical supervision, preferably in oil & gas.
  • Certifications:
  • ADNOC approval (if applicable).
  • CSWIP, ASME, or equivalent welding/piping certifications.
  • OSHA/NEBOSH/IOSH or similar HSE certification.
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, fittings, valves, pumps, and structural components.
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and isometrics.
  • Familiarity with SAP, AutoCAD, and project management tools is an advantage.
