Job summary

NMDC Group is seeking a Pipe Operator for Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger in the United Arab Emirates. You will operate and monitor dredge pipeline systems, ensure safe handling, and coordinate with the control room and deck crew during pumping and discharge operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor dredge pipeline systems including suction, discharge, and shore connections.
  • Control opening/closing of valves, pipe joints, and floating/shore pipeline sections.
  • Assist in connecting and disconnecting floating pipelines during dredging and reclamation operations.
  • Ensure proper alignment and stability of pipelines to avoid leaks or ruptures.
  • Monitor pressure gauges, flow rates, and report abnormalities to the Dredge Master/Chief Engineer.
  • Coordinate with the dredge control room and deck crew during pumping and discharge operations.
  • Carry out routine inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of pipes, joints, and rubber hoses.
  • Detect and rectify minor leakages, blockages, or pipeline failures.
  • Follow safety procedures during high-pressure pumping and pipeline handling operations.
  • Assist in anchor handling and positioning related to pipeline laying.
  • Maintain communication via radio with relevant departments during operations.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and operational standards during discharge activities.
  • Support emergency response in case of pipeline burst or spillage incidents.
  • Keep records of pipeline operations, maintenance, and incidents as required.
