Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Physiotherapy Technician to support safe, evidence-based physiotherapy services under supervision. The role involves delivering treatment programs, monitoring progress, and assisting with equipment and patient needs.

You will communicate with patients, assess home and equipment factors, maintain equipment, and ensure confidentiality and infection control in all tasks performed. The role may include training responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited (NLT 2 year curriculum) course as a Physiotherapy Technician.

Responsibilities

• Deliver physiotherapy treatment programs under direction from the physiotherapist using evidence based protocols.
• Monitor patients’ progress and adapt treatment programs as agreed with physiotherapy staff.
• Communicate with patients using verbal and non-verbal methods to progress rehabilitation.
• Take body measurements to match a patient to equipment.
• Assess environmental factors of patients as required.
• Assist in maintenance and provisioning of rehabilitation equipment.
• Record relevant clinical information in line with policies and procedures.
• Escort patients within United Arab Emirates when required.
• Interpret for patients if bilingual and required.
• Produce timely, accurate clinical inputs for rehabilitation devices and equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of rehabilitation equipment and intervene in fixing defective devices.
• Maintain patient information confidentiality and infection control compliance.
• Demonstrate safe use of materials/equipment to clients and/or carers.
• Assist in training of students, if required.

Supports the provision of safe, effective, evidence based and comprehensive physiotherapy services, under the supervision of Senior Physiotherapist/ Physiotherapist

Responsibilities

• Using acquired skills to deliver physiotherapy treatment programs under direction from the physiotherapist and using evidence based protocols
• Monitoring patients’ progress and adapt treatment programs as agreed with physiotherapy staff and ensure qualified staff are updated accordingly
• Using a range of verbal and non-verbal communication methods to communicate effectively with patients to progress rehabilitation and treatment programs
• Taking measurements of patients as required, e.g. of body size, seating posture, etc, in order to match a patient to equipment
• Assessing environmental factors (home layout, building access) of patients whenever required
• Assessing of current equipment provision
• Monitoring all equipment within the department, flagging any maintenance requirements or breakdowns to senior staff
• Recording any relevant clinical information obtained from the patient during the course of the examination, in line with current policies and procedures
• Escorting patient, when required within United Arab Emirates
• Interpreting for patients, if bilingual and required
• Producing timely, accurate and detailed clinical inputs, in accordance with agreed local and regional standards as applied to the rehabilitation and physiotherapy devices and equipments used
• Maintaining a detailed knowledge of all rehabilitation, physiotherapy and special equipment available to the section/department Intervening whenever practical in the fixing and mending of defected equipment and devices
• Maintaining the strictest confidence in relation to patient information whether formally or informally recorded
• Maintaining compliance with all safety regulation in manipulating equipment
• Maintaining compliance with all infection control regulations and policies when dealing with equipment and patients
• Assessing appropriate materials/equipment following discussion with senior staff. To demonstrate and teach the safe use of materials/equipment in an appropriate manner to clients and/or carers within the limits of competency
• Assisting in training of students, if required
