Job summary

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in Abu Dhabi is seeking a physiotherapy technician to support safe, evidence-based services under supervision.

The position involves assisting with assessments, implementing treatment programs, monitoring progress, and maintaining documentation in line with policies and CPD requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience: NLT 2 years postgraduate experience as a physiotherapy technician in relevant experience with patients with same diagnosis seen in acute care hospital or Rehab Facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists with elements of assessment as directed by registered physiotherapists e.g. measurements for equipment provision.
• Provides physiotherapy treatment programs under direction from the registered physiotherapists using evidence-based protocols/guidelines.
• Monitors patients’ progress and adapts treatment programs as agreed with registered physiotherapists and ensures they are updated accordingly.
• Provides patient education and maintenance of equipment as necessary within manufacturers guidelines.
• Communicates effectively with patients and registered physiotherapists to progress rehabilitation and treatment programs.
• Maintains documentation of any relevant clinical information.
• Assists with administrative/operational as directed by supervisor/senior physiotherapist for departmental efficiency.
• Ensures awareness and alignment with vision, mission, values, national licensing, organizational & departmental policies, clinical guidelines, mandatory competencies (e.g. Basic Life Support, Infection Control, Fire Safety, etc.) and SSMC compliance guidelines (as below)Maintaining and assisting in the enforcement of up-to-date clinical and professional knowledge development, according to organizational/unit/s requirements (e.g. minimum of CPD / CME hours per year required for re-licensing)
