Job summary

Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi seeks a Physiotherapy Technician to join our Allied Health team. Under supervision of Registered Physiotherapists, you will assist with assessments, deliver treatment programs, monitor progress, educate patients, and maintain documentation in line with clinical guidelines.

Required: at least 2 years postgraduate experience as a physiotherapy technician in acute care or rehabilitation settings.

• NLT 2 years postgraduate experience as a physiotherapy technician in acute care or rehab facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assessment elements as directed by registered physiotherapists e.g. measurements for equipment provision
• Provide physiotherapy treatment programs under direction from the registered physiotherapists using evidence-based protocols/guidelines
• Monitor patients’ progress and adapt treatment programs as agreed with registered physiotherapists and ensures they are updated accordingly
• Provide patient education and maintenance of equipment as necessary within manufacturers guidelines
• Communicates effectively with patients and registered physiotherapists to progress rehabilitation and treatment programs
• Maintains documentation of any relevant clinical information
• Assists with administrative/operational as directed by supervisor/senior physiotherapist for departmental efficiency
• Ensures awareness and alignment with vision, mission, values, national licensing, organizational & departmental policies, clinical guidelines, mandatory competencies (e.g. Basic Life Support, Infection Control, Fire Safety, etc.) and SSMC compliance guidelines (as below)Maintaining and assisting in the enforcement of up-to-date clinical and professional knowledge development, according to organizational/unit/s requirements (e.g. minimum of CPD / CME hours per year required for re-licensing)
