Job summary

Healthpoint in Abu Dhabi seeks a physiotherapist to evaluate referred patients, design individualized therapy programs and monitor progress across musculoskeletal, neurological and post-operative rehab.

You will work with physicians and nurses, document outcomes, adhere to clinical guidelines and contribute to service development and student education.

Requirements include a BSc (or MSc) in Physiotherapy, 2+ years post-qualification experience, BLS certification, and a DoH specialty qualification.

Qualifications

• BS in Physiotherapy or equivalent with attainment of MSc in Physiotherapy.
• Minimum 2 years of experience post qualification in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
• BLS Certification is required.
• Completion of specialty qualification as per DoH guidelines.
• Knowledge of musculoskeletal, sports and pre/post-operative rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop personalized therapy plans.
• Deliver hands-on physiotherapy across musculoskeletal, neurological, post-operative and complex rehab cases.
• Set patient-centered goals and collaborate with patients, families and clinical teams.
• Progress treatment plans based on patient response and safety considerations.
• Use evidence-based practice and outcome measures to track progress and ensure clinical excellence.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and allied health professionals for integrated care.
• Educate patients and families on injury prevention and post-treatment mobility.
• Monitor for clinical risk factors and ensure safety throughout therapy.
• Ensure timely documentation, billing and reporting in line with regulations.
• Support service development and clinical education of students or junior staff.

This role is responsible for evaluating patients referred to physiotherapy, organizing and implementing individualized therapeutic programs and monitoring the patients progress and response to treatment. This role would include the ability to demonstrate clinical knowledge and understanding that is relevant to their area of practice and underpins their individual scope of practice, recognize their role and responsibilities within the patients plan of care, and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology, evidence-based practice, and physiotherapy practice of service users through the life span.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, psychological, and functional needs to develop personalized therapy plans.

• Deliver hands-on physiotherapy across a wide range of conditions including musculoskeletal, neurological, post-operative, and complex rehabilitation cases.

• Set clear patient-centered goals and work collaboratively with patients, caregivers, and clinical teams to achieve meaningful outcomes.

• Continuously adjust and progress treatment plans based on patient response and recovery trends - keeping therapy both safe and effective.

• Use evidence-based practice and outcome measures to track patient progress and contribute to high standards of clinical excellence.

• Work closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver integrated care across the rehabilitation continuum.

• Educate patients and families on injury prevention, post-treatment care, and strategies for long-term mobility and wellness.

• Monitor for clinical risk factors and prioritize safety at every stage of the therapy process.

• Ensure timely and accurate documentation, billing, and reporting in line with internal and external healthcare regulations.

• Contribute to service development initiatives, support clinical education of students or junior staff, and participate in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy or Direct entry of a recognized program with attainment of Master of Science degree in Physiotherapy.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience post qualification in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation field.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Completion of specialty qualification as per the recognized specialty certificate (Department of Health guidelines).
• Knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy, and pre and post-operative rehabilitation, relevant procedures and current best practices.
