Job summary

Aster DM Healthcare Limited is seeking a Dietitian to plan and direct the preparation and service of diets for patients and staff in a hospital setting. The role involves counselling on nutritional principles, dietary needs, and food preparation with supervision of food service staff.

Responsibilities include patient visits, nutritional assessments, diet planning, and coordination with the food service department. DHA license and bilingual Arabic/English capabilities are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in science.
• 2 years experience in similar position and in a hospital setup preferred.
• Strong communication skills are required.
• Must be computer literate.
• DHA license is a must.
• Fluent in Arabic and English required.

Responsibilities

• Visit patients and evaluates food intake and acceptance.
• Perform nutritional assessments with tools and information available.
• Complete an initial resident nutritional assessment summary.
• Systematically charts on Dietary Progress.
• Note such information as counseling, diet instruction given, nutritional assessment and other comments.
• Assess need for supplementary feedings/tube feedings, making adjustments when necessary.
• Coordinate diet information with food service department.
• Is familiar with system of diet records and writing diet tickets.
• Individualize caloric diets and records calculation on cardex card.
• Attend patients staffing and keeps staffing notes in Patient’s chart.
• Attend special staffing as needed.
• Approve regular menu and expands regular diet menu for special diets
• Provide in-service education for food service department.
• Participate in training food service employees concerning food service and diet therapy.

Your Role

The Dietician will plan and direct the preparation and service of diets to patients and staff. The role has direct contact to instruct patients and others on nutritional principles, dietary needs, food selection and preparation. The role has the authority to exercise supervision over the Food Service Supervisors and all other Food Service Staff.

Your Responsibilities

Visit patients and evaluates food intake and acceptance.

Perform nutritional assessments with tools and information available.
