Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor in physics or related subject with PGCE or other teaching qualification and minimum 2 years teaching experience
• Experience of the American curriculum
• Commitment to an extensive enrichment programme
• Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities
• Experience with students for whom English is an additional language
• Positive and solution-focused attitude; clean enhanced DBS/Police check

Responsibilities

• Creating a climate for learning conducive to outstanding practice
• Identifying clear teaching and learning objectives
• Setting tasks that challenge students and sustain high levels of interest
• Setting appropriate and demanding expectations
• Maintaining discipline in line with Behaviour for Learning policies
• Using assessment for learning to inform planning and differentiation
• Using performance data to inform lesson planning and improvement
• Marking students' work regularly and providing progress targets
• Preparing informative reports to parents
