Job summary

National Reference Laboratory (NRL) in the UAE is seeking a Phlebotomist to join its M42 healthcare network. You will safely collect blood and specimens, ensuring patient‑centered care and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

The role requires completion of an approved phlebotomy certification, at least 1 year of post‑qualification experience, and a valid DOH/DHA license eligibility plus BLS. UAE driving license preferred; on‑site laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved phlebotomy certification.
• Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience as a Phlebotomist.
• Valid DOH or DHA license eligibility.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and blood collection procedures for pediatric, adult, pregnant, and geriatric patients.
• Verify patient information and test requests and select the appropriate collection equipment and techniques.
• Collect, label, process, store, and prepare blood, urine, and other specimens accurately and safely.
• Ensure correct sample quality and quantity while following infection control, aseptic, and laboratory safety procedures.
• Prioritize and manage STAT, scheduled, and outpatient specimen collection requests.
• Communicate sensitively with patients, explain collection procedures, and provide guidance on specimen collection requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and report any significant patient or specimen-related issues to the relevant healthcare team.
• Maintain adequate supplies and support compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, quality, and safety standards.
