Job description
Responsibilities:
Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency and quality of all items.
Ensure all pastry items are stored correctly and adhere to proper food safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and workstations, ensuring all tools and equipment are clean and organized.
Help with inventory management, including receiving deliveries, checking stock, and organizing ingredients.
Assist with decorating cakes, pastries, and desserts with attention to detail and presentation.
Monitor and maintain baking equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and reporting any issues to senior chefs.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
Assist with daily mise en place, ensuring the kitchen is ready for service.
Participate in training sessions and develop skills under the guidance of senior pastry chefs.
Report Line & Communication:
To assist the Head chef in ensuring that all culinary standards in that section comply with Hotel Policies and Procedures and Minimum Standards.
To maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other departments.
Others:
Continuous learning through own IDP.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the superior.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in a kitchen environment, particularly in a pastry department, is desirable but not required.
Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, and dessert preparation is an asset.
A passion for pastry and a desire to learn and grow in the culinary field.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, depending on the needs of the business.
Able to gracefully receive constructive criticism as well as effectively carry out orders.
