Overview of the role :
- The purpose of the role is to handle inspection, diagnosing, and repair of vehicles using advanced diagnostic tools to identify problems and repair vehicles using Fix it Right to improve customer retention, in compliance with OEM and Al-Futtaim standards, deliver revenue targets, and impart technical knowledge to team members, including new joiners and apprentices. The technician is responsible for the entire customer journey in the workshop, from receiving the service booking call, scheduling appointments, vehicle reception, repairs, handover, and invoicing for Volvo in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
What you will do :
- Diagnose, perform general repairs, and conduct periodic maintenance with advanced general repair (AGR) and accessories fitment as per repair manual to achieve productivity, utilization, and set hours targets.
- Create electronic warranty approval requests in the Dealer Management System (SAP).
- Manage interactions with customers throughout the service process, from booking to vehicle handover and invoicing.
- Properly utilize special service tools and manage the tools inventory.
- Ensure vehicle delivery on promised time or customer demand.
- Engage daily with Andons and the Aftersales Manager to develop the team’s technical skills.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in automotive manufacturing and technical advancements.
- Possess thorough knowledge of parts and components installation.
- Adhere to OEM and distributor standards.
- Write technical reports on AGR cases after diagnosing.
- Interpret complex documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, repair manuals, and wiring diagrams.
- Follow quality control procedures to prevent or correct substandard workmanship.
- Contribute to business success by focusing on personal performance and sharing knowledge and resources.
- Work within protocols and meet Volvo’s requirements.

About the Team :
- Reporting to the Aftersales Manager, managing a team, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
What equips you for the role :
- Bachelor or Diploma in Automobile, Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering.
- IMI LV Master Technician (L3-4) or equivalent.
- High-level brand certifications (e.g., Diagnostic Master, Gold, L3).
- 4-6 years as a Light Vehicle Technician, including at least 2 years as a Diagnostic Technician and some experience as a Service Advisor in an automotive dealership.
- Basic knowledge of Electric Vehicles.
- Technical skills, customer relationship management skills, and proficiency with tools and equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Valid UAE driver’s license.
