Pediatric Dermatologist – Child Skin Care

Overview

A pediatric dermatologist who can diagnose and manage skin, hair, and nail disorders in infants, children, and adolescents. The role requires a compassionate physician who can combine specialist pediatric dermatology expertise, procedural skill, family education, and multidisciplinary care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess infants, children, and adolescents with skin, hair, and nail concerns using age‑appropriate examination methods and careful clinical history taking.
• Diagnose and treat pediatric dermatological conditions including eczema, psoriasis, acne, birthmarks, skin infections, allergic skin disorders, pigment changes, and inherited skin diseases.
• Build individualized treatment plans that consider the child's age, diagnosis, disease severity, family concerns, medication safety, and follow‑up needs.
• Perform dermatologic procedures when appropriate, including skin biopsies, cryotherapy, laser treatments, and minor surgical interventions.
• Review treatment response and adjust care plans for chronic or recurring conditions requiring long‑term monitoring.
• Coordinate with pediatricians, allergists, immunologists, genetic specialists, nurses, and other clinicians to support integrated patient care.
• Explain diagnoses, treatment options, preventive measures, skincare routines, and medication instructions clearly to parents, caregivers, and young patients.
• Maintain complete and timely medical records in line with organizational policies, UAE healthcare regulations, and patient safety standards.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical audits, quality improvement work, and internal service development activities.
• Keep professional knowledge current through continuing medical education, pediatric dermatology updates, and evidence‑based clinical practice.
• Follow ethical medical standards, patient confidentiality requirements, cultural sensitivity principles, and safe clinical practice at all times.

Ideal Profile

• Medical Degree such as MD, MBBS, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a recognized Dermatology residency program.
• Fellowship or advanced training in Pediatric Dermatology is preferred.
• Board certification or equivalent specialty certification in Dermatology.
• Eligible for UAE medical licensing, with DOH Abu Dhabi license eligibility or previous UAE licensing experience considered an advantage.
• Minimum 3‑5 years of post‑specialization experience in Pediatric Dermatology is preferred.
• Confident in managing pediatric eczema, acne, psoriasis, allergic rashes, infections, birthmarks, genetic skin disorders, and complex dermatology cases.
• Skilled in clinical diagnosis, dermatology procedures, family counseling, treatment planning, and follow‑up care.
• Able to communicate with children and families in a calm, reassuring, and culturally respectful manner.
• Fluent in English; Arabic language ability is an added advantage.
• Professional, empathetic, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
