Role Context

This position is suitable for a qualified dermatologist with specialist knowledge of pediatric skin, hair, and nail conditions. The role covers common and complex inflammatory, allergic, infectious, congenital, and genetic dermatological disorders affecting patients from infancy through adolescence. The Pediatric Dermatologist will conduct clinical assessments, establish diagnoses, develop personalized treatment plans, and perform appropriate dermatological procedures. The role also involves educating parents and caregivers about treatment choices, medication use, preventive care, and the long-term management of pediatric skin conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat skin, hair, and nail disorders affecting infants, children, and adolescents.
• Manage eczema, psoriasis, acne, birthmarks, skin infections, allergic skin disorders, and genetic skin diseases.
• Conduct comprehensive dermatological examinations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Perform skin biopsies, cryotherapy, laser treatments, and appropriate minor surgical procedures.
• Monitor clinical progress and adjust treatment plans according to patient response and medical needs.
• Provide evidence-based care for acute, chronic, and complex pediatric dermatological conditions.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, allergists, immunologists, and other specialists on multidisciplinary cases.
• Explain diagnoses, procedures, treatment options, medication instructions, and potential risks to patients and families.
• Advise parents and caregivers on disease prevention, daily skin care, and long-term condition management.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical records in line with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Remain current with developments in pediatric dermatology through continuing medical education and professional development.
• Comply with UAE healthcare regulations, ethical medical practices, infection-control procedures, and patient-safety standards.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree such as MD, MBBS, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a recognized residency program in Dermatology.
• Board certification or an equivalent specialty certification in Dermatology.
• Fellowship or specialized training in Pediatric Dermatology is preferred.
• Eligibility for or possession of a valid UAE medical license.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of post-specialization experience in Pediatric Dermatology is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of pediatric skin, hair, and nail disorders.
• Strong diagnostic, clinical, and dermatological procedural abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate sensitively with children, parents, and caregivers.
