Job summary

Responsibilities

• Implement media and communication strategies to strengthen PCFC’s public image, visibility and stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand their communication requirements and develop content aligned with priorities.
• Liaise with media agencies to ensure timely and effective dissemination of content while maintaining brand messaging.
• Monitor, analyse and report on media coverage relating to PCFC initiatives and events, providing insights to improve strategies.
• Support editorial calendar management to ensure a consistent flow of content aligned with priorities and events.
• Coordinate with writers, designers, photographers and other resources to develop engaging, accurate content.
• Develop and maintain quality standards for media publications and designs in line with branding guidelines.
• Analyze publication performance to inform future content strategies.

About Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation:

The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) was officially established in 2001, under the authority of the Dubai Government. There are a number of entities and institutions operating under its umbrella, including Port Rashid, Jebel Ali Port, Al Hamriya Port, which are managed by Dubai Ports Authority, in addition to the Department of Planning and Development - Trakhees, the Dubai Maritime Authority and the Office of the Marine Agency for Wooden Dhows, as well as the investment arm and security arm of the corporation, represented by Investment Department and Security Department.

MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS

• Implement media and communication strategies to strengthen PCFC’s public image, visibility and stakeholder engagement through effective media relations and content dissemination.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand their communication requirements and work with relevant team members to develop appropriate content, ensuring alignment with organisational needs and priorities.
• Liaise with media agencies to ensure the timely and effective dissemination of content while maintaining a consistent brand image and messaging across all communication platforms.
• Monitor, analyse and report on media coverage relating to PCFC initiatives, activities and events, providing insights and recommendations to enhance future communication strategies.
• Support the management of the editorial calendar to ensure a consistent flow of content aligned with organisational priorities, events and strategic initiatives.
• Coordinate with writers, designers, photographers and other creative resources to support the development of engaging, accurate and high-quality content.
• Develop and implement quality standards for media publications and creative designs, ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with PCFC’s branding guidelines and relevant industry standards.
• Analyse the performance of publications and media content, using data, feedback and relevant insights to inform future content strategies and improve communication effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with media organisations, external agencies and relevant partners to support PCFC’s media, marketing and communication initiatives.
• Support the periodic review and updating of published content to ensure continued relevance, accuracy and alignment with current organisational priorities and external developments.
• Attend exhibitions, conferences and external events, as required, to provide appropriate media and communication support and ensure effective coverage of PCFC’s participation.
• Respond to urgent and unplanned media requirements as required, ensuring timely and appropriate communication support.

EXPERIENCE

Required (Minimum Experience): A minimum of two years’ experience in media and communications.

Preferred: Experience in media relations and content production within a fast-paced corporate, government or semi-government environment.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required (Minimum Qualification): A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Media, Communications, Journalism or a related discipline.

Preferred: A recognised professional certification in media or digital communications, such as Certified Media Specialist (CMS), Digital Media Certification (DMC) or an equivalent qualification.
