As a Payroll Officer in ZMI, you will be mainly responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees including Offshore and Onshore across our operations in the UAE, KSA, and Qatar. This role requires thorough knowledge of regional labour laws, social insurance, and statutory compliance. He will play a critical role in managing employee data, calculating wages and final settlements, addressing payroll discrepancies, and maintaining detailed payroll records.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Calculate employee salaries, wages, bonuses, overtime, and deductions in accordance with UAE, KSA, and Qatar labour laws.
- Ensure timely processing of payroll in close coordination with HR department.
- Process end-of-service benefits (gratuity) and final settlements as per regional regulations.
- Stay updated on and ensure compliance with local labour laws, social insurance contributions (such as GOSI in KSA), and other statutory requirements in the UAE, KSA, and Qatar.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax returns, social security payments, and any other statutory reports to government agencies within stipulated deadlines.
- Manage and coordinate with auditors and government agencies for payroll audits and inspections.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data, including personal information, job details, salaries, benefits for employees in UAE, KSA, and Qatar.
- Update payroll software with changes in regulations or company policies.
- Ensure data security and confidentiality, particularly concerning sensitive employee information.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely and effective manner, ensuring employees are well-informed and satisfied.
- Collaborate with the HR team to ensure all employee data is accurate and up-to-date, particularly for new hires, leavers, and changes in employment status.
- Work closely with the finance department to ensure payroll transactions are accurately recorded in the company's financial systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, including automation and system enhancements, to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new payroll policies and procedures in line with changes in local labour laws and company practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent certificate
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Payroll Officer, preferably with experience in the UAE, KSA, or Qatar.
- Proficiency in ERP payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, with particular focus on Excel.
- Strong communication skills both in English. Arabic speaking would be a plus
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
