Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Accountant to manage and process payroll for the organization in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and internal policies while maintaining high confidentiality and accuracy in handling employee compensation data.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Process monthly payroll for all employees, including full-time, part-time, and contractors.
- Collect, verify, and input timekeeping and attendance records.
- Ensure correct calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions (e.g., taxes, insurance, loans).
- Verify payroll reports and ensure timely payments to employees via bank transfer or cheque.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax codes, and statutory reporting (e.g., WPS in UAE, Social Security, Pension, etc.).
- Prepare and submit payroll-related tax filings (e.g., end-of-service benefits, gratuity, etc.).
- Generate monthly payroll reports for management, including variance reports, headcount, and cost analysis.
Accounting & Reconciliation:
- Post payroll journal entries in the accounting system.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain general ledger related to payroll transactions.
Documentation & Audits:
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including salary revisions, bonuses, leaves, and deductions.
- Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation as required.
Employee Support:
- Respond to employee queries related to salaries, payslips, tax deductions, and other payroll matters.
- Coordinate with HR for onboarding, exits, and leave management that impact payroll.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
- Proven experience (2–5 years) as a Payroll Accountant or Payroll Officer.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or local systems like SAGE or WPS portals).
- Strong knowledge of relevant local labor laws and tax regulations.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- High level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with end-of-service benefits (for UAE/Gulf regions).
- Experience handling multi-country payrolls (if regional or global role).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

- Timeliness and accuracy of payroll processing.
- Compliance with tax and labor regulations.
- Accuracy of reconciliations and journal entries.
- Resolution time for payroll-related queries.
- Zero payroll processing errors or payment delays.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, Office-based or Hybrid (based on company policy).
- May require overtime during payroll cut-off or year-end closing periods.
