An established industry player is seeking a skilled Pavement and Road Design Engineer to join their Dubai office. This role involves comprehensive pavement design and analysis for roads and highways, ensuring compliance with AASHTO guidelines and local codes. The ideal candidate will bring at least 8 years of experience, including significant exposure to Middle East projects. You'll leverage your expertise in pavement materials and CAD drafting to deliver practical, cost-effective design solutions. For our office in Dubai, we are looking for
Pavement and Road Design Engineer 100% (m/f)
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in both pavement design and road geometric design. They should have a proven track record of working on infrastructure projects, demonstrating a solid understanding of pavement material behaviour, structural design methods, and performance modelling.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive pavement design and analysis for roads and highways in accordance with AASHTO guidelines and applicable local codes, particularly within the Middle East region.
Perform detailed evaluations of pavement structural and functional conditions to support effective rehabilitation and maintenance strategies.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of pavement materials, construction sequences, and overall buildability to ensure practical and cost-effective design solutions.
Prepare high-quality pavement design reports, assessment and evaluation documentation, and technical presentations for internal and client review.
Review Request for Proposal (RFP) documents to support the development of tender designs and technical submissions.
Utilize analytical and design software such as Civil 3D and pavement calculation tools to perform accurate and efficient designs.
Apply knowledge of road and highway geometric design, including alignment, profiles, traffic signage, and road markings, ensuring full compliance with relevant standards.
Exhibit strong CAD drafting skills with exceptional attention to detail and design presentation quality. Conduct comprehensive pavement design and analysis for roads and highways using AASHTO and local codes (Middle East).
Conduct detailed evaluations of structural and functional conditions for pavement rehabilitation design.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Highway Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 2 years of Middle East project experience with a total of not less than 8 years of proven experience in road and pavement design engineering, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
Demonstrated exposure to international infrastructure projects; prior experience with Global Design Centers (GDCs) is highly desirable.
Strong familiarity with local codes, design standards, and regulatory authoritiesespecially within the Middle East region.
Relevant professional certifications in pavement or highway engineering are an added advantage (e.g., PMP, PE, RPEQ, or equivalent).
Excellent communication, coordination, and technical reporting skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage tasks independently when required.
