Job description

Our client, a renowned hospital, is currently looking for a Patient Safety Specialist & Clinical Risk who will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance the overall patient experience within the hospital. The role involves leading efforts to improve patient satisfaction, engagement, and loyalty by creating a patient-centered culture and ensuring high-quality care delivery.

The Patient Safety Specialist & Clinical Risk will champion and lead efforts to uphold the highest standards of patient safety across all the health facilities. The role involves designing, implementing, and sustaining robust patient safety programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks, enhance outcomes, and foster a proactive culture of safety. This role acts as a subject matter expert and strategic partner to multidisciplinary teams, working across all levels of the organization. The key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and implementing comprehensive patient safety programs and improvement initiatives across the health facilities.
  2. Driving the integration of safety principles into clinical operations and decision-making.
  3. Incident Management & Risk Mitigation: Leading investigations of safety incidents, near misses, and adverse events; conducting root cause analyses; developing action plans to mitigate risks; monitoring follow-up and implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
  4. Policy & Compliance: Establishing and maintaining patient safety policies and procedures in alignment with national and international standards (DHA, JCIA); ensuring compliance and readiness for accreditation and quality reviews.
  5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Working collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical leadership, quality teams, and frontline staff; acting as a liaison and consultant for facilities to guide local implementation of patient safety programs.
  6. Education & Training: Designing and delivering training on patient safety principles, event reporting, risk awareness, and system improvement; mentoring junior staff.
  7. Data Monitoring & Reporting: Overseeing development of performance dashboards, safety reports, and KPIs; analyzing safety metrics to identify trends and opportunities; conducting safety culture assessments and leading interventions.
  8. Other Duties: Performing other related duties to support department operations and strategic goals.
