Job description

The Patient Admission Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admission process for patients entering a healthcare facility. This position involves coordinating between patients, clinical staff, and administrative departments to manage scheduling, documentation, insurance verification, and regulatory compliance. Working within a healthcare environment in the UAE, the coordinator ensures that all procedures align with local health authority guidelines and deliver a patient-centered experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinating patient admissions by collecting and verifying necessary documentation, consent forms, and identification.
  2. Liaising with physicians, nursing teams, and other hospital departments to schedule admissions and allocate beds appropriately.
  3. Verifying insurance coverage and pre-authorization approvals in coordination with the insurance and billing departments.
  4. Entering and updating patient information in hospital information systems with accuracy and confidentiality.
  5. Ensuring compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and facility-specific protocols during the admission process.
  6. Providing patients and families with clear information regarding procedures, rights, and billing processes.
  7. Handling admission-related inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and timely manner.
  8. Collaborating with discharge coordinators to support efficient patient flow and bed management.

Requirements:

  1. Diploma or bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field.
  2. 2-3 years of experience in hospital admissions, patient services, or medical front desk operations within the UAE.
  3. Knowledge of DHA, DOH, or MOH patient admission protocols and healthcare regulations.
  4. Proficiency in hospital information systems (HIS), electronic medical records (EMR), and insurance verification platforms.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
  6. Strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy, detail, and documentation.
  7. Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion and in compliance with privacy laws.
  8. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic or other regional languages is a plus.
