A leading global university in Abu Dhabi seeks a Research Associate to develop innovative covalent organic frameworks for sustainable water treatment. The candidate should have a BSc/MSc in a relevant field and experience in experimental research of porous materials. The Khalil Research Group at NYU Abu Dhabi employs a crossdisciplinary approach that integrates chemistry reaction engineering and manufacturing principles to develop advanced materials for environmental remediation. Our research focuses on controlling material structures from the nanoscale to the microscale enabling the creation of innovative technologies that leverage these complex architectures for sustainable water treatment solutions.
The Research Associate will work on a project focused on developing covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for water treatment applications. The role involves the synthesis and characterization of materials using advanced techniques such as powder Xray diffraction, electron spectroscopy and porosity analysis. The researcher will also evaluate the performance of these materials in water applications.
Additional responsibilities include preparing manuscripts and reviewing articles. The Research Associate will have the opportunity to work on individualized projects under the guidance of Dr. Safiya Khalil ensuring a wellrounded research experience throughout the tenure.
