Job summary

Career Land Center, LLC seeks an experienced Pastry Sous Chef to lead daily pastry and bakery operations across a high-volume F&B portfolio in Kuwait. You will supervise pastry production, ensure quality, and coordinate with culinary and service teams to maintain brand standards.

The role requires strong team leadership, HACCP knowledge, and a proactive approach to menu execution and cost control in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Pastry Sous Chef or in a similar pastry leadership role.
• Strong background in restaurants, hospitality groups, hotels, luxury cafés, bakeries or high-volume F&B operations.
• Solid knowledge of pastry, bakery, desserts, cakes, chocolates, plated desserts and production planning.
• Experience with bulk production and multi-outlet support is a plus.
• Excellent team supervision, communication and training skills.
• Good understanding of food cost control, inventory, portion control and waste reduction.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen compliance standards.
• Creative, organized, detail-oriented and quality-focused.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment and handle pressure professionally.

Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Pastry Chef in managing daily pastry and bakery operations.
• Supervise preparation and production of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, chocolates and other bakery items.
• Ensure all pastry products are prepared and presented according to company standards.
• Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portioning, decoration and presentation.
• Assist with production planning, mise en place, stock rotation and service readiness.
• Support bulk production for events, displays, catering and high-volume operations.
• Guide, train and supervise junior pastry and bakery team members.
• Monitor food cost, wastage, inventory, storage and portion control.
• Ensure strict hygiene, food safety, cleanliness and HACCP standards at all times.
• Assist with menu execution, seasonal items, special requests and new product development.
• Coordinate with culinary, service, purchasing, stewarding and management teams for smooth operations.
• Step in to lead pastry operations in absence of the Executive Pastry Chef.
• Support continuous improvement in pastry quality, efficiency and team productivity.
