Job summary

Dhaba in Abu Dhabi is seeking a creative Pastry Chef de Partie to join its pre-opening team, bringing Indian sweet traditions to the table with modern finesse. Reporting to the Sous Chef and Head Chef, you will lead the dessert section, preparing and presenting plated desserts, pastries and baked goods to Dhaba's standards of quality, consistency and presentation.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' experience in a pastry or dessert section (Demi Chef de Partie, Commis or Line Cook).
• Strong baking, dessert preparation and plating skills.
• Knowledge of Indian desserts is a strong advantage.
• Culinary or pastry qualification preferred.
• Creativity, precision and attention to detail.
• Understanding of portioning, inventory and ingredient storage.
• Calm under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
• A team player with good communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all desserts, pastries and baked goods to Dhaba recipes and portion standards.
• Lead daily mise en place so the section is ready for every service.
• Plate and decorate desserts with precision and creativity.
• Contribute to new dessert recipes and seasonal specials.
• Train and supervise commis and junior pastry team members.
• Monitor stock, freshness and storage of ingredients, reporting needs to the Sous Chef.
• Follow HACCP and food safety standards, keeping the station clean and organised.
• Operate kitchen and bakery equipment safely.
• Support other sections during peak service when needed.
