Job description

The Passenger Entertainment Operations & Logistics Controller will be accountable for all aspects of the Emirates inflight entertainment (IFE) and connectivity (IFEC) product operations and logistics through driving efficiency, systems monitoring, troubleshooting, customer interoperability and quality in line with the overall corporate communications strategy. This incorporates all aspects of measuring, monitoring and managing IFEC logistics operations including inflight Wi-Fi, mobile phones, movies, TV, music, audio, games, promotional assets, information assets, systems monitoring and passenger surveys.

In this role you will:
  1. Ensure the on-time delivery of all IFE media assets whilst adhering strictly to agreed monthly timelines. Optimise timelines to minimise error and improve quality. Manage complex operations and logistics to ensure a smooth flow of materials throughout the process, involving collaboration with stakeholders such as content distributors, labs, CSPs, OEMs like Panasonic & Thales, and internal teams including IT and Engineering.
  2. Continuously monitor the operation, maintenance, and performance of onboard connectivity systems including Wi-Fi, satellite communications, cellular networks, portals, and service providers. Conduct root cause analysis to resolve customer complaints and enhance Wi-Fi portal experiences, collaborating with stakeholders to minimize disruptions.
  3. Organise the rollout of IFEC systems and updates to the fleet in collaboration with partners to ensure seamless customer experience.
  4. Monitor and maintain the functionality of IFEC systems across the fleet, promptly resolving issues and collaborating with partners to troubleshoot challenges, ensuring an uninterrupted passenger experience.
  5. Oversee aircraft modification processes, maintaining records for IFEC projects such as retrofits and upgrades.
  6. Ensure cabin crew and staff are fully briefed on services, system functionalities, and procedures. Maintain manuals and support training initiatives.
  7. Enhance passenger experience by offering diverse entertainment options, using feedback, OEM data tools, social media insights, and industry trends to evaluate and improve offerings.
  8. Update live map systems regularly to reflect geographical and regulatory changes.
  9. Deliver Airshow releases with the latest passenger messages, sourcing images and recommending presentation order by flight phase.
  10. Support ad-hoc projects like fulfilling IFEC requirements for charter flights, vendor changes, deploying multilingual videos, pre-recorded announcements, and special messages.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
  • 5+ years experience in Entertainment Media/Connectivity and logistics
  • Experience in inflight entertainment operations, with detailed understanding of video/media standards
