Partnership Officer - Institutional Engagement and Regional Cooperation The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is Financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow in Asia and beyond-infrastructure with sustainability at its core. We began operations in Beijing in 2016 and have since grown to 110 approved members worldwide. We are capitalized at USD100 billion and AAA-rated by the major international credit rating agencies. Collaborating with partners, AIIB meets clients' needs by unlocking new capital and investing in infrastructure that is green, technology-enabled and promotes regional connectivity.
The Operational Partnership Department (OPD), under the Vice President, Policy and Strategy, is responsible for managing and coordinating the operational partnerships between AIIB and relevant multilateral organizations, fora, and stakeholders; administering the Bank's Special Funds resources, including performing the role of Implementing Partner of selected partnership facilities; as well as managing the Bank's engagement with regional coordination mechanisms, with the objective of building relationships that can mobilize additional resources for AIIB's investment operations. The Institutional Engagement and Cooperation Team (IEC) under OPD is in charge of coordinating AIIB's global and regional engagement, overall relationship management and strategic alignment with sovereign and non-sovereign partners, originating and managing technical partnerships, and providing upstream support.
OPD is looking for a Partnership Officer for Institutional Engagement and Regional Cooperation, whose primary responsibility will be to support AIIB's global engagement work under the IEC, including partnership engagement with other multilateral development banks (MDBs) and multilateral initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to AIIB's engagement in global and regional policy fora and multilateral affairs, including fostering partnerships with MDBs, the G20, United Nations (UN), and other key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and coordinate AIIB's participation in high-level regional and global conferences and platforms, including but not limited to G20, COP, UN development conferences, ASEAN Summit, and MDBs' annual meetings and high-level groups. This includes collaborating closely with event organizers and internal stakeholders, including for content and logistical arrangements.
  • Contribute and support the work of MDB collaboration workstreams and other multilateral technical-level working groups.
  • Conduct strategic analysis and planning to shape AIIB's and global and regional stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and priorities.
  • Provide analytical support on regional and global policy developments and trends, offering insights to inform AIIB's global policy approach and decision-making.
  • Support event coordination, including the organization/participation of meetings, events, workshops and conferences, and pre-event coordination and on-site support.
  • Conduct any other tasks assigned by their supervisor or Director General.

Requirements:
  • Minimum eight (8) years of relevant working experience in multilateral affairs, external relations, and/or partnership building within the context of international development finance.
  • Master's degree or higher in finance, business, economics, international relations, public policy, or related fields from a reputable university.
  • Experience in advising and supporting senior executives in multilateral affairs, including G20, MDB collaboration, and multi-party institutional negotiations, and demonstrated understanding of global policy issues, will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to produce, combine, and apply policy, financing, and technical knowledge to complete complex assignments.
  • Superior client orientation. Able to work with all levels of staff, management, clients, and partners. Adept at identifying, coordinating, and discussing program/project-level issues with the Bank's various departments and management.
  • Experience in leading professional conferences or workshops and conducting stakeholder consultations.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and diplomatic skills, including the ability to work with, and relate to, a wide range of stakeholders (donors, clients, and staff).
  • Excellent proficiency in professional writing and speaking in English. Proficiency in French, Portuguese, or Spanish would be considered an asset.
  • Comfortable communicating and work in an international and multicultural environment.
  • A strong team player with a proactive attitude and able to work independently.
