Job description

Partnership Officer - Institutional Engagement and Regional Cooperation

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank dedicated to financing infrastructure with sustainability at its core. Established in Beijing in 2016, it has grown to 110 approved members worldwide, capitalized at USD 100 billion, and rated AAA by major credit rating agencies. AIIB collaborates with partners to meet client needs by unlocking new capital and investing in green, technology-enabled infrastructure that promotes regional connectivity.

The Operational Partnership Department (OPD), led by the Vice President of Policy and Strategy, manages partnerships with multilateral organizations, fora, and stakeholders. It oversees the Bank's Special Funds resources and engagement with regional mechanisms to mobilize additional resources for AIIB's investments. The Institutional Engagement and Cooperation Team (IEC) within OPD coordinates AIIB's global and regional engagement, manages relationships with sovereign and non-sovereign partners, and supports strategic alignment and technical partnerships.

We are seeking a Partnership Officer for Institutional Engagement and Regional Cooperation to support AIIB's global engagement efforts, particularly with other multilateral development banks (MDBs) and multilateral initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support AIIB's participation in global and regional policy forums and multilateral affairs, including partnerships with MDBs, the G20, United Nations, and other stakeholders.
  2. Coordinate AIIB's involvement in high-level conferences and platforms such as G20, COP, UN development conferences, ASEAN Summit, and MDBs' meetings, including content preparation and logistical arrangements.
  3. Assist in MDB collaboration workstreams and multilateral technical groups.
  4. Conduct strategic analysis and planning to enhance AIIB's stakeholder engagement aligned with institutional goals.
  5. Provide insights on regional and global policy developments to inform AIIB's policy approach.
  6. Support organization and participation in meetings, workshops, and conferences, including pre-event planning and on-site support.
  7. Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or the Director General.

Requirements:

  1. At least eight (8) years of experience in multilateral affairs, external relations, or partnership building within international development finance.
  2. Master's degree or higher in finance, business, economics, international relations, public policy, or related fields from a reputable university.
  3. Experience advising senior executives in multilateral affairs, G20, MDB collaborations, and negotiations; understanding of global policy issues is an asset.
  4. Ability to apply policy, financing, and technical knowledge to complex tasks.
  5. Strong client orientation, capable of working with all staff levels, management, and partners, and managing program issues across departments.
  6. Experience leading conferences, workshops, and stakeholder consultations.
  7. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and diplomatic skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
  8. Proficiency in English; knowledge of French, Portuguese, or Spanish is a plus.
  9. Comfortable working in an international, multicultural environment.
  10. Proactive team player capable of working independently.

AIIB values diversity, transparency, and inclusion, encouraging applications from all qualified individuals regardless of background. Compensation depends on experience and qualifications. Join us to contribute to sustainable development in Asia and grow your career in a dynamic environment.
