• Choose appropriate musical compositions and arrangements that align with AU Music Band’s goals and abilities.
• Expand the band’s repertoire by introducing new pieces and genres.
• Lead the band during live performances, ensuring precise timing, dynamics, and artistic expression.
• Communicate cues and directions to musicians during performances.
• Collaborate with band members to shape the overall artistic identity of the group.
• Arrange and/or compose music as needed, adapting pieces to the band’s instrumentation and skill level.

• Conduct auditions to select new members for the band.
• Promote the university music band within the campus community and beyond.
