Job summary

ConFlip is seeking a part-time Librarian in Sharjah, UAE to organize and manage library resources, assist patrons, and promote literacy. The role emphasizes customer service and accurate handling of materials.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor;s degree in Library Science or is currently pursuing one, with 1+ year library experience, strong English communication, and good organizational skills. Visa ownership is required; Arabic is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (or currently pursuing).
Minimum of 1 year experience working in a library setting.
Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic language skills are a plus).
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Familiarity with different classification systems (Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress).
Must have own visa (no sponsorship provided).

Responsibilities

Organize and maintain the library's collection of books, magazines, newspapers, and other materials.
Assist library patrons with finding resources and checking out materials.
Answer reference questions and provide information on library policies and procedures.
Plan and conduct library programs and events to promote reading culture and literacy.
Create displays and exhibits to highlight different resources and themes.
Catalog new materials using the appropriate classification system.
Monitor the condition of books and other materials, making recommendations for repair or replacement when necessary.
