Job summary

Ambassador International Academy in Dubai seeks a Part-Time Business Teacher to support DP Business Management and BTEC Business delivery in the Secondary team. The role is approximately 2–3 days per week, with flexibility to also teach MYP I&S if needed.

The successful candidate will prepare students for external examinations, support IA assessment tasks, and contribute to a growing BTEC provision within the IB Career-related Programme.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Management, Economics or a closely related discipline.
• A recognised teaching qualification and experience teaching at secondary/post-16 level.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging DP Business Management and BTEC Business lessons.
• Prepare DP students for external exams and support the Business Management IA.
• Support delivery and assessment of BTEC units in line with Pearson criteria.

Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Part-Time Business Teacher to join our Secondary team, working approximately 2–3 days per week.

The successful candidate will primarily support the delivery of IB Diploma Programme Business Management and Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Business. The ability to also teach MYP Individuals and Societies (I&S) would be advantageous but is not essential.

Our BTEC provision forms part of the IB Career-related Programme (CP) as well as operating as a standalone pathway and is a growing area of the school. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business teacher seeking a flexible part-time role within an international school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in DP Business Management and BTEC Business.
• Prepare DP students for external examinations and support the completion of the Business Management Internal Assessment.
• Support the delivery and assessment of BTEC units in line with Pearson assessment requirements.
• Develop students' analytical, evaluative and decision‑making skills through authentic, real‑world Business contexts.
• Use assessment information effectively to monitor progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate assessment and tracking records.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues on planning, assessment, moderation and standardisation.
• Create positive relationships with students and contribute to high expectations for learning.
• Where appropriate, contribute to the teaching of MYP Individuals and Societies.

Person Specification

Essential

• A degree in Business, Management, Economics or a closely related discipline.
• A recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Business at secondary and/or post-16 level.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and appropriately challenging lessons.
• A commitment to inclusive practice and high expectations for all students.
• Strong communication, organisation and collaborative working skills.

Desirable

• Experience teaching IB DP Business Management at SL and/or HL.
• Experience delivering BTEC Business, including assessment against Pearson criteria.
• Experience within an IB World School, including DP and/or Career‑related Programme.
• Ability to teach MYP Individuals and Societies (I&S).
• Experience within an international school environment.
• Experience teaching students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Working Pattern

This is a part‑time position of approximately 2–3 days per week. The precise working pattern and teaching allocation will be agreed with the successful candidate.
