Job description

SpecialismProject Management / Operations / Strategy

Oversees all surface preparation and coating activities for oil and gas facilities, ensuring corrosion protection and long-term asset integrity. Leads teams in executing blast-and-paint operations in accordance with NACE and SSPC standards, verifying surface profiles (SA 2.5/3), and monitoring environmental conditions for optimal coating performance.

• Supervise abrasive blasting and coating application for tanks, pipelines, offshore structures, and other critical assets.
• Inspect abrasive media, verify dry film thickness (DFT), and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety procedures.
• Enforce safety protocols for confined space work, hot work, and hazardous environments.
• Oversee specialized coatings such as epoxy novolac, glassflake systems, zinc-rich primers, and thermally sprayed aluminum.
• Calibrate and use inspection tools including elcometers and holiday detectors.
• Certify applicator competency and ensure adherence to quality control standards.
• Maintain batch records for plural-component coatings and document non-conformances.
• Coordinate with project teams to meet production targets without compromising quality.

Diploma or technical qualification in painting/coating technology or a related field.

Minimum 1-3 years of experience in painting supervision within oil and gas or industrial projects, preferably in the UAE or GCC.

Strong knowledge of NACE/SSPC standards and coating application techniques.

Experience in corrosion protection systems and cathodic protection compatibility.

Proficiency in inspection methods and use of coating measurement equipment.

Strong leadership, safety management, and communication skills.

NACE Level 2/3 or equivalent certification is preferred.
