Job summary

VerityX is seeking a Senior OT/ICS Cybersecurity Specialist to secure OT/ICS environments within Oil & Gas operations. You will lead cybersecurity projects, design and harden DCS, PLC, HMI and industrial networks, and provide expert guidance across engineering systems. Strong field experience is essential.

The role requires deep knowledge of OT protocols and standards, plus excellent communication to coordinate with vendors, clients, and project teams at client sites in Abu Dhabi and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
• 15+ years information security experience, including 10+ years in Oil & Gas OT/ICS.
• Strong experience with DCS/PLC systems in OT environments.
• Knowledge of Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC UA, PROFINET, TCP/IP, DNP3.
• Familiarity with OT/IT standards: NESA IAS, ISO 27001, ISA/IEC 62443, NIST.
• Excellent written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support OT/ICS cybersecurity projects across Oil & Gas facilities.
• Design, assess, harden, and secure DCS, PLC, HMI, Engineering Workstations, servers, and OT networks.
• Perform OT vulnerability, threat, and risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
• Support cybersecurity activities during FAT, SAT, commissioning, and site implementation.
• Analyze OT network traffic and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols.
• Work with multiple ICs/DCS/PLC OEM platforms and coordinate with vendors and project teams.
• Ensure solutions align with applicable OT/IT cybersecurity standards and best practices.

The role involves securing OT/ICS environments, supporting cybersecurity projects, and providing technical expertise across DCS, PLC, HMI, engineering systems, and industrial networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support OT/ICS cybersecurity projects across Oil & Gas facilities.
• Design, assess, harden, and secure DCS, PLC, HMI, Engineering Workstations, servers, and OT networks.
• Perform OT vulnerability, threat, and risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
• Support cybersecurity activities during FAT, SAT, commissioning, and site implementation.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
• 15+ years of Information Security/Cybersecurity experience, including 10+ years in Oil & Gas OT/ICS cybersecurity.
• Strong experience with DCS/PLC systems and OT environments.
• Knowledge of Modbus, Vnet, OPC, TCP/IP, UDP, DNP3, IEC 61850, OPC UA, and PROFINET.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, network architecture, firewalls, routers, switches, Active Directory, and system hardening.
• Experience with ICS OEMs such as Honeywell, GE, ABB, Yokogawa, Schneider Electric, Emerson, and Siemens.
• Strong understanding of OT threats, vulnerabilities, exploits, and mitigation techniques.
• Good knowledge of NESA IAS, ISO 27001, ISA/IEC 62443, and NIST.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Work Location:

Work may involve Head Office, Oil & Gas project sites, client locations, and vendor/FAT facilities. Travel may be required based on project needs in Abu Dhabi.
