VerityX Talent is seeking a hands-on OT Cybersecurity Engineer for day-to-day maintenance and technical support in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on DCS/SCADA, HMI, engineering workstations, and OT infrastructure to ensure secure, available systems on site.

The ideal candidate will have 4–7 years of practical experience in industrial automation or OT cybersecurity, with hands-on exposure to PLCs, SCADA, and network security. A 100% site-based position in Abu Dhabi is offered.

Qualifications

# OT Cybersecurity Engineer – Maintenance & Site SupportAbu Dhabi, UAEUnited Arab EmiratesCapital of the UAE — sovereign wealth, regulators and large-scale transformation programmes.We are seeking a hands-on OT Cybersecurity Engineer to provide day-to-day cybersecurity maintenance and technical support across Operational Technology and Industrial Control System environments. The role is focused on the operation, maintenance, hardening and security of DCS/SCADA and associated OT systems, rather than cybersecurity governance or high-level security architecture. You will work on site alongside Operations, Maintenance, Automation/Control Engineering, IT/OT Security and technology vendors to ensure OT systems remain secure, available and correctly maintained. Experience within an industrial or process-control environment is important. This may include Oil & Gas, energy, utilities, power, water, petrochemical, manufacturing or similar environments.\\*\\*Key Responsibilities:\\*\\*- Provide day-to-day OT cybersecurity maintenance and technical support for industrial control environments.- Support and maintain DCS, SCADA, HMI, engineering workstations, servers and associated OT infrastructure.- Perform system and device hardening, secure configuration and security baseline maintenance.- Support OS and antivirus patching, endpoint protection, VPN/secure access and OT network security controls.- Monitor system logs and security alerts and escalate suspected cybersecurity incidents.- Troubleshoot OT security, system and network issues in coordination with engineering and vendor teams.- Maintain OT asset inventories, security configurations, system documentation and backup records.- Perform and verify backups of OT systems and network/security device configurations.- Support periodic OT cybersecurity health checks, vulnerability reviews and compliance activities.- Support FAT, SAT, testing, commissioning and site implementation activities where required.- Coordinate with automation/control-system OEMs and third-party contractors.- Ensure maintenance and vendor activities comply with OT cybersecurity procedures and approved change-control processes.\\*\\*Experience We're Looking For:\\*\\*- Approximately 4–7 years' experience in industrial automation, control systems, OT/ICS or cybersecurity, including practical exposure to OT cybersecurity.- Hands-on experience with DCS, SCADA, PLC, HMI or industrial control environments.- Experience with system hardening, patch management, antivirus/endpoint protection and secure configuration.- Good understanding of industrial networking and OT network security.- Experience troubleshooting Windows-based engineering workstations, servers and networked OT systems.- Exposure to one or more industrial control-system platforms such as Honeywell, Yokogawa, Emerson, ABB, Siemens or Schneider Electric.- General knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC/OPC UA, PROFINET or DNP3.- Awareness of ISA/IEC 62443, NIST or recognised OT cybersecurity practices.- Experience with FAT/SAT, commissioning or site maintenance would be advantageous.- Ability and willingness to work 100% on site.\\*\\*Qualifications:\\*\\*A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation/Control Engineering, Computer Engineering, IT, Cybersecurity or a related technical discipline is preferred. Relevant certifications in industrial automation, networking, cybersecurity or ISA/IEC 62443 would be advantageous but are not mandatory where the candidate has strong hands-on experience.\\*\\*Work Environment:\\*\\*This is a 100% site-based position in Abu Dhabi. The role requires regular interaction with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, IT/OT Security and external automation vendors and contractors.
