Job description

  • An Operation Theatre (OT) Coordinatormanages and coordinates all aspects of the OT, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.This includes scheduling surgeries, managing the OT schedule, coordinating with surgeons and other staff, ensuring equipment and supplies are available, and maintaining the OT environment.
Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and Coordination:
  • Scheduling surgeries and procedures, including elective and emergency cases.
  • Coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Managing the OT schedule, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Ensuring pre- and post-operative care needs are met.
  • Operational Management:
  • Ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available and properly maintained.
  • Managing inventory of surgical instruments, medical supplies, and other materials.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the OT environment.
  • Ensuring adherence to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Communication and Liaison:
  • Communicating effectively with patients and their families about surgical procedures.
  • Liaising with other departments and staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Acting as a resource for staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • May be involved in staffing and evaluations.
  • May assist with financial management.
  • May be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
